The online publication platform perspectivia.net is an international, cross-epoch, interdisciplinary and non-profit making portal for humanities studies. The objective of perspectivia.net is the advancement and strengthening of academic communication.
perspectivia.net is supervised by Prof. Dr. Gudrun Gersmann, Director of the German Historical Institute in Paris. It is a project of the Foundation of German Humanities Institutes Abroad (DGIA) with the cooperation of the Bavarian State Library, Munich (BSB), and numerous international partners.
The basic idea behind perspectivia.net is to create a publication environment for the German humanities institutes abroad under the roof of the Foundation of German Humanities Institutes Abroad (DGIA) (www.stiftung-dgia.de). Here the institutes themselves, as well as their respective cooperation partners, can present the findings of their research.
perspectivia.net is multi-lingual. On perspectivia.net new texts can be published originally in electronic form or print publications presented in a retro-digitalised form.
In cooperation with the Centre for Electronic Publishing (ZEP) at the Bavarian State Library in Munich perspectivia.net can facilitate various modes of publication: journals, book series, monographs, reviews, workshop und conference proceedings, theses, reference editions, interviews, audio-files, illustration and photograph sources.
perspectivia.net is obligated to the open-access principle for the advancement and promotion of a free academic exchange.
The texts published on perspectivia.net have meta data features, which facilitates locating publications with established search engines. The Bavarian State Library Munich assures durable and long-term archiving of the publication platform as well as the inclusion of the online publications in the library catalogues.
