The German Centre for the History of Art in Paris (DFK) was established in 1997 to provide an institutional framework for German studies on France and, vice-versa, French studies on Germany, and also to support international young scholars of art history. The DFK is directly next to the French colleges of the ‘Institut national d’histoire de l’art’ and the old ‘Bibliothèque Nationale de France’. It awards annual scholarships on selected topics. Longer-term research projects such as research into the German-French relations in art since 1800, are also carried out at the DFK.
